Description

Notification of temporary and occasional excursion traffic by ski schools/instructors from another state.

General information Explanation of this section

The activities of ski instructors taking part in excursions run by ski schools/instructors from another country or state must be notified to the Tyrolean Ski Instructors’ Association (Tiroler Schilehrerverband).

Requirements Explanation of this section

The ski school/instructor concerned must notify the Tyrolean Ski Instructors’ Association at least 3 weeks before the first occurrence of the activity. The excursion traffic must be temporary and occasional; liability insurance of at least EUR 6 million must be taken out and must include Tyrol in its geographical scope; guests must be received in the country/state concerned; it is absolutely essential that the ski instructor prove that they are qualified to practise their profession and have the knowledge and skills to ensure the safety of guests and third parties. If an equivalent activity is permitted to be carried out in a country/state whose law does not require a specific professional qualification, this activity must have been carried out for at least 1 year in the last 10 years. The necessary knowledge of German in the interests of the safety of the guests.

Notification must be made at least 3 weeks before the first occurrence of the activity; a new notification must be made every year if the excursion activity is to continue.

Procedure Explanation of this section

The ski school/instructor concerned must notify the Tyrolean Ski Instructors’ Association at least 3 weeks before the first occurrence of the activity, enclosing the certificates required. A new notification must be made every year if the excursion activity is to continue. Amended certificates must be provided if the conditions on which they are based have changed. Information on liability insurance must be rectified in the event of a change in the situation.

The notification must include the name of the ski instructor or the owner of the ski school; the address of the establishment; and the name and address of the liability insurer, along with the policy number and the sum insured. A description of the type(s) of skiing to which the activity is planned to relate. A certificate of legal establishment and a certificate confirming the absence of a ban (even temporary) on practising the profession; evidence of relevant training and any periods of professional experience; evidence, in any form, of the relevant duration of professional experience if the activity may be carried out in a country/state whose law does not require specific professional competence.
