Description
Performing artificial insemination on an animal.
General information
The activity may not be started until it has been declared to the Chamber of Agriculture (Landwirtschaftskammer). Evidence of professional competence and good repute must be attached to this declaration.
Requirements
- Professional competence: completion of training as a veterinarian (B) or as an inseminator in educational facilities.
The professional competence requirement will also be deemed to be met for training courses that are recognised in the context of European integration.
- Good repute: no relevant criminal convictions or administrative offences in the past 5 years.
Deadlines
The activity may not be carried out until it has been declared.
Procedure
If the requirements are met, a certificate must be issued using the declaration as a basis. Without a certificate, the individual must be banned from practising as an inseminator by way of an administrative decision.
If requested to do so, the Chamber of Agriculture must recognise training courses deemed equivalent in the context of European integration.
Authentification and signature
The application does not have to be signed electronically – using a mobile phone signature (Handy-Signatur) or E-ID – or by hand.
Required documents
Written declaration of good repute; criminal record certificate or equivalent (not more than 3 months old).
Costs
Administrative charges; fees in accordance with the Fees Act (Gebührengesetz).

Detailed information
The profession of insemination technician, as defined by the Tyrolean Livestock Breeding Act 2019, is aligned with the qualification level under Article 11(a)(i) of Directive 2005/36/EC.
