The exhibition illustrates the many impacts that have been, and continue to be, largely beneficial for Austria and its citizens. It addresses the question of what Austria’s situation might be if it were not part of the EU and, through flagship and illustrative projects co-financed by EU funds from various countries, shows where the EU is involved and what benefits are achieved for citizens. The exhibition gives a voice to citizens who experienced Austria’s accession 30 years ago or were involved in shaping it politically. The younger generation, who were born into European Union membership and for whom the EU’s advantages like Erasmus+ have become a matter of course, is heard as well through statements.
The travelling exhibition will be on tour throughout Austria during the entire anniversary year and beyond. It is coordinated and administered by the ten EUROPE DIRECT centres in all federal regions.
To provide further information on the exhibition topics – presented in a clear and visually engaging way and structured across eleven roll-ups – an accompanying brochure has been produced. In addition, more in-depth information is available online and can be accessed via QR codes on the roll-ups and in the brochure.
